· Our origin story ·

“Why”…it’s a potent question we often use to seek deeper meaning.
Why are we here? Why can’t our skills be used for good? Why aren’t there more motion design studios that prioritize projects about kindness and avoid harm to people, animals, and the environment?

These were the questions Roxy, Vexquisit’s CEO, asked herself after turning vegan in 2015. Motivated by these questions and a commitment to veganism, she and her partner-in-crime, Co-Founder David Heidrich, started Vexquisit, becoming the first vegan motion design studio in the world.

Opportunities soon followed, with inspiring female business leaders like Dr. Melanie Joy from Beyond Carnism and Jodi Monelle from LIVEKINDLY entrusting Roxy, David, and their talented gang. By 2018, Vexquisit was officially born as a mission-driven business.

From 2018 to 2022, Vexquisit produced a range of impactful projects focused on veganism, environmental sustainability, mental health, and other positive causes, earning 100% client satisfaction. This success was fueled by a talented team of artists (our gang), including one constant member from day one: Ronaldo Serrano. While not vegan himself, Ronaldo was the greatest advocate for veganism we’ve ever known. Tragically, he was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2022, and after a courageous battle, Glioblastoma ultimately won. However, he left us with a profound lesson in resilience and the power of fight.

His loss was a profound one, leading Roxy and David to pause Vexquisit for over a year to heal. Through this journey, Roxy connected with various communities, inspiring her to reopen Vexquisit’s doors to a broader audience. Since 2022, she has confirmed that kindness extends far beyond the vegan niche, and there are many spaces where Vexquisit’s unique magic can make a difference.

Roxy brings an extensive background in Motion Design to Vexquisit, after working in many corners of the globe including Cuenca-Ecuador, Savannah-GA, New York City, Charlotte -NC, Düsseldorf.

Roxy has worked in collaboration with numerous agencies and businesses on high-profile projects for brands such as Pro-Veg International, trivago, Wacom, Hoegaarden, Ferchau, Cadillac, and Volkswagen.

When she’s not pushing the boundaries of video design for Vexquisit clients, Roxy is an active member of RevThink & The Futur Pro Group, which allows her to rub digital elbows with fellow creative entrepreneurs from across the world.

A self-confessed systems and automation geek, David Heidrich develops in-house workflow tools at Vexquisit and creates digital products to support the vegan market.

Prior to starting Vexquisit Studio in Berlin, David co-founded hellofellow KG, an online community for expats, emigrants and travelers.

For over 12 years he has been bootstrapping a variety of startups around Europe, as well as consulting for businesses and teams of all sizes.

Outside of Vexquisit, you’ll find David buzzing around Berlin on his e-bike, probably en route to pick up Vexquisit’s next office cheesecake. David also takes the role as Lead Vacation Researcher, and is planning the pair’s next getaway - to a cat-friendly location, of course.

· Giving back to the Community ·

We try our best to give back to the planet and all its inhabitants. We started creating VEGCRAVER in 2019 and launched post pandemic in 2021 as the world’s first 100% plant-based catering web app. VEGCRAVER provided small businesses with a platform to sell their food and services.

We bootstrapped the project, but staying busy with Vexquisit didn’t allow us to enter the investor world, which led to financial difficulties. Although VEGCRAVER didn’t take off as we’d hoped, we’re incredibly proud of what we created. By the end of 2023, we made the difficult decision to close VEGCRAVER. We learned a lot through this journey, and we’re happy it served as inspiration for many. The media spotlight we received even encouraged non-vegan competitors to introduce more vegan options to keep up with the demand.

We also donate to worthy causes. Since 2016 we have sponsored Totoro, a handsome pig (who never calls 🥲 to check in), from Erdlingshof Sanctuary. We have also supported animal organizations, such as: ProVeg International, Animal Equality, Mercy for Animals, Esther the Wonder pig, We Animals, among others.
